BuddyPress – Activity comments plugin

This plugin will enable posting comments on activity stream items, similar to Facebook. By default, comments are limited to 150 characters.

Only logged in users can leave comments on activities and delete that comments. Also, if user is "owner" of the activity stream he/she will be able to delete all unwanted comments on that activity no matter who posted a comment. Admins can delete any comments.

Plugin requires BuddyPress 1.1-beta at least.

If you find some bugs or have suggestions how to make plugin better, please let me know.

Installation notes:

  • Go to Plugin admin section and activate it
  • Move theme files "/wp-content/plugins/buddypress_cpt_activity_comments/bp-themes/cpt_activity_comments" to your active theme folder.
If your active theme is BuddyPress default then move cpt_activity_comments folder to "/wp-content/themes/bp-default".

Thanks for using the plugin.

  1. Wow! Just looked at the screenshots and this is definitely needed in BP 1.1!
Will test it out when I finally have a chance to upgrade to the latest BP.

    Great work, Sandra!

  2. i have trayed it but it dosn“t work how to implement it correctly ?

  3. Can you give me more information? What versions of WPMU and BP do you have? Is there any error message?

  4. Is there any way to stop this from loading on one blog using a different theme? I am using P2 theme on one blog and this plugin stops the posting feature from working, I think its a ajax interaction issue. Your plugin loads sitewide automatically, I just need it to NOT load on a specific theme

  5. Just tried this plugin on BP 1.1.2.

I’m currently using the old /bp-themes/ format.

I got the plugin working with profile activity, but the sitewide activity doesn’t show the activity comments.

  6. can we change the order from descending to ascending ?

  7. great plugin, thank you!

  8. hi sandra thanks for the great plugin,…

but i have problem using it,…i used bbpress 1.1.3 and mu 2.8.6

when i click post button nothing happens,…what should i do?…
do i need to edit the php file?

    please help

    thanks

  9. Will you update this plugin for use on buddypress 1.2?

  10. We probably will one day, but I’m afraid that there’s nothing to expect in this direction in the immediate future as we’ve decided to stay with the 1.1 branch for the time being – there’s just too much change required in all of our own customizations and a couple of third party plugins, too, to justify hope for a quick upgrade.

  11. What would it take to upgrade this plugin for bp 1.2?

I’m hoping to use it in conjunction with the bp-wire put back in BP (http://buddydev.com/buddypress/bp-wire-plugin-updated/), but hitting roadblocks so far.

    Thanks!

  12. Sorry, we cannot provide any Buddypress support, including support for this plugin.

  13. Hi Markus,

Thanks for the reply. Is there anyone you can recommend who can? Or at least point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help you can give.
